Caring For Your mature Dog
For 20 years now ageing in dogs has been an area of particular interest to veterinarians and biologists.
Before they reach what is referred to as old age, dogs pass through the so-called maturity phase, this is a sort of second period of their adult existence. Maturity is the period when the dog is in his prime, during which cellular changes, still invisible to the naked eye, which are the precursor to the old age, are starting to take effect. It is important to start feeding a food specially designed for this maturity phase as it will help the dog keep his vitality and help neutralise free radicals, the negative effects of which increase with age. That is the reason why we must choose a food adapted to their specific needs during this phase.
